The reporter learned from Nanning Customs on January 15 that Guangxi's foreign trade operation was stable and improving in 2025, with the total value of imports and exports reaching 819.26 billion billion yuan, an increase of 8.4 percent over the same period last year, and both the scale and growth rate "broke 8". The scale of foreign trade ranks 13th in the country and 2nd in the western region. The growth rate is 4.6 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate of the country's foreign trade, ranking 11th in the country and 7th in the western region. In December 2025, Guangxi's foreign trade import and export reached 92.55 billion yuan, setting a new monthly record. Nanning Customs analysis pointed out that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, in the face of the complicated international situation and the severe impact of the century epidemic, Guangxi's foreign trade showed strong growth resilience, continuously spanning 4 billion steps, from less than 500 billion yuan in 2020 to more than 800 billion yuan in 2025. As China's opening up and cooperation to ASEAN, Guangxi actively promotes the deepening of China-ASEAN regional economic integration. In 2025, Guangxi's imports and exports to ASEAN totaled 429.22 billion billion yuan, an increase of 8%, accounting for "half of Guangxi's foreign trade" in the same period. ASEAN has maintained Guangxi's largest trading partner status for 26 consecutive years. Among them, the scale of imports and exports to Vietnam exceeded 300 billion yuan for the first time, an increase of 5.4; imports and exports to Indonesia, Singapore, and Myanmar all grew by more than 40%. At the same time, the diversified market development has achieved remarkable results. Imports and exports to Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and the European Union were 121.95 billion yuan, 51.1 billion yuan, 47.12 billion yuan, and 28.15 billion yuan, an increase of 27.4, 21.6, 15.8, and 46.3 respectively. With the continuous optimization of the business environment, the vitality of Guangxi's foreign trade subject continues to increase. In 2025, there were 6155 business entities with import and export records, an increase of 550 over the previous year. Among them, private enterprises continued to play the role of the "main engine" of foreign trade, with imports and exports of 563.45 billion billion yuan, an increase of 4.7 percent, accounting for nearly 70 percent of Guangxi's foreign trade. In the same period, driven by key projects in the region, state-owned enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises imported and exported 151.91 billion yuan and 74.62 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 22.7 and 23.6 percent respectively. It is worth mentioning that Guangxi's innovative entities have performed outstandingly. National-level specialized and special new "little giant" enterprises and Guangxi's leading industrial enterprises have increased their exports by 21.6 and 18.4 respectively. Driven by effectively undertaking domestic industrial transfer and deepening opening up and cooperation, Guangxi's industrial economy has grown steadily, which has strongly supported the high-quality development of Guangxi's foreign trade. In terms of exports, the export of intermediate products in the electronic information industry such as integrated circuits was 89.34 billion yuan, an increase of 36.9 percent; the export of automobiles and their spare parts and lithium batteries was 31.11 billion yuan and 25.38 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 24.6 percent and 60.7 percent respectively; the export of metal materials was bright, and the export of nickel and copper materials doubled. In terms of imports, pillar industries such as non-ferrous metals, steel, petrochemicals, grain and oil, etc., drove the import of bulk commodities to 194.16 billion billion yuan, an increase of 9%, accounting for nearly 60% of Guangxi's total import value.
